Reason #1: The Staff
Whenever paying a dental office a visit the dentist is not the primary reason why patients have bad experiences; believe it or not, it is the staff! A lot of discussion has been going on about dental hygienists and the way they treat the patient. Some patients have stated that their dental hygienist tends to scold them about how they are not brushing well enough or that they give contradicting information with the dentist of the office. Although in extremely high demand, a dental hygienist does not tend to stick it out with one dental office for an extended period of time. This can raise a massive issue with consistency and can affect the dental office as a brand with the quality of work.
Reason #2: It’s a Business
The bottom line of dentistry is that it is in fact a business; businesses are obligated to uphold the highest in customer service. Patients are feeling more and more arrogance from their dentist. The dentist is either trying to push something that the patient does not want to go through or cannot afford. Be sure to ask your dentist a lot of questions to figure out the reason for them prescribing a procedure or medication. Good dentists that legitimately care about your health and well-being will take the time to explain everything, down to the very last detail.
If this is how you feel then it is time to look for a new dentist to trust.
