From early childhood we were taught to brush three times a day, but how many of us uphold this good habit in adulthood? Every time you got a new toothbrush the inspiration to brush rekindles. Since we only get two sets of teeth our whole life, good dental hygiene is an integral part of our health. The initial digestion process begins in the mouth so your teeth are hit with the most severe of consequences if they are not tended to. Imagine losing the ability to chew or the confidence to smile.
Bacteria and plaque will accrue over time and even though you may have the best tooth brush, it may not be enough. Flossing is also very important in the process to uphold good dental health. Always be sure to floss regularly, at least twice a day. Mouth wash can be paired with the flossing to help remove any loose plaque; it is also a great way to freshen your breath. If you do not enjoy the alcohol sting of certain mouthwashes there are alternative alcohol free mouthwashes that are available for purchase. Cavities and root canals can get rather pricey to fix; the operations can also be very painful. It is best to take a form of preventive care that way you do not break the bank or have to undergo any surgery.
